… is an independent non-governmental organisation for children and young adults that works closely together with the Naturschutzbund (NABU). The Naturschutzjugend (NAJU) Brandenburg is striving to bring knowledge about nature and environmental protection to new generations for more than 30 years. We support everyone interested in the field of environmental education and protection, to realize own projects and provide internships as well as voluntary positions (FÖJ,BFD). Children can get active in guided groups that meet regularly.
Our organisation is open to everyone aged 6 to 27. We have more than 2000 members in the state Brandenburg alone. Summer camps, inspiring workshops in nature, amazing education days and weekends or interesting office work, regardless of your age everyone who would like to promote our mission is wholeheartedly welcome. Also our voluntary board is open to new members.

The “Spree-Wald-Werkstatt” is the place for environmental education of the Naturschutzjugend (NAJU) Brandenburg. It is situated in the middle of a forest in Brandenburg close to the river Spree and the lake “Neuendorfer See”. We are investing a big amount of energy and heart into this project and are delighted to see it growing and thriving. Without the help of our marvellous volunteers and financial support this project would not be possible.
With nature as our main inspiration we help shape the “Spree-Wald-Werkstatt” so it can sustain and be the home of countless species of animals and plants. It is our main goal to not only create these habitates but to help protect them far into the future through education.
Due to its location the “Spree-Wald-Werkstatt” forest is a focal point of our work. Squirrels and jays aid in the transformation of the pine forest into a mixed forest with a high diversity of trees and therefore ecological niches. We promote this transformation through protecting young trees from any kind of damage.
Do you want to know what’s next? We are constantly planning new projects. Feel free to join our activities at the “Spree-Wald-Werkstatt” and become a part of our NAJU family. Let us enjoy and protect this beautiful place together.
